3 Magic Bedtime Questions

For many individuals, life zooms past once they reach their working age. Day-to-day, it’s the same dash routine of waking up, heading to the workplace, coming back from the job, and sleeping. It’s no surprise you’ll ask yourself, “How did I get old so fast? Where did all the time go?”

The issue is in the regular work. The human mind has this routine called deletion. Your memory does not record anything that keeps repeating, simply since it’s unworthy of taking notice.

So precisely, how can we reduce our experience of time and not let our lives slip by in an instant? The response lies in establishing Mindfulness– an increased state of awareness of one’s ideas, sensations, and actions. However, if you can’t do that, you can start by practicing the 3 Magic Bedtime Questions.

As you lie in bed at night, ask and address these three questions before you fall asleep:

1. What is something I am grateful for today?

2. What do I look forward to tomorrow?

3. What would I like to fantasize about tonight?


Why do I call these simple questions magical? Well, let me inform you of the logic behind them. The initial question requires you to think through your day to find something you’re grateful for. As you do that, you will discover something to be happy about and have remembered your entire day. In Neuro-Linguistic Programming, we call this summarizing experience. Imagine putting your day-to-day experience right into a container, placing a cap on it, and identifying it, “The day I met Jen.” Having many of these containers in your mind keeps your memories into significant experiences, as opposed to having them as one large clump called “My Working Years– 20 to 50 years old”.

The second question requires you to look forward in time and envision what will happen tomorrow. When you have something to anticipate eagerly, it develops natural anticipation and drive. You will feel motivated the minute you awaken. It will undoubtedly be the first thing that stands out in your mind.

The third question discloses your innermost needs because we naturally select to dream concerning what we want and want. This clarifies our instructions and also our objective.
